From what I can see on the internet, it creates an aged look.
TR is right, it gives it an aged look. This may be what you are Looking for. If you want a different effect call a local paint store (not a general hardware store or a big box store) and tell them your problem. Thatโs what they do all the time.

you can use many things to thicken paint from talcum/baby powder to plaster of paris/drywall compound, baking soda,chalk,salt etc., what are you doing trying to do/paint with the thickened paint????
