Make air fresheners out of unstoppable fabric softner
Actually, I never use fabric softener. I just put straight vinegar in the wash machine's dispenser for the fabric softener. The vinegar helps remove soap or detergent residue in the rinse cycle, which means the fabrics are soft. This is really noticeable for towels. Even my old old towels are very soft - they don't get scratchy. I don't know, but suspect vinegar might be more environmentally friendly than fabric softener sheets. I like to hear what you think.
I second that vote for vinegar in the washer.
Hi Kay - We use dryer balls instead. Making your own wool dryer balls may seem complicated, but this is a simple step-by-step tutorial. They are so much safer than chemical softeners or dryer sheets, and they work really well. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
