My husband took our couch cushions to an upholsterer who re-stuffed them with new "innards." They look great - and new!
A slip cover could work as well. Or, check this out - https://loveoffamilyandhome.net/2014/02/saggy-couch-solutions.html
A sheet of 1/2 inch plywood under the cushions, the size of the couch, would take the extra weight. Cover it with a heavy Material so it doesn't catch your cushion material.
Get to an upholstery shop-- and get the HEAVY dense/extra firm foam rubber for the insides "stuffing" of the cushions. They can cover/recover/upholster for you, or do your own, as in removable/landerable zippered slip covers or such. GOOD LUCK on the project. (Take along the old cushions, for size, shape, etc. to fit your sofa - chairs and so fort.hh. )
