SPRAY BLEACHon it or use CLR
Get a plastic bag larger than the shower head, add some vinegar or whatever cleaner you use, put the bag over the shower head, making sure the cleaning stuff is in contact with the parts that need cleaning, and tape it on. Leave it for a while, then remove, scrub gently, and rinse well. This method assumes the issue is mineral deposits from hard water.
Lots of people fill up a large baggie with vinegar & use a rubber band to hold the bag around the shower head.
They let it soak in the vinegar for a day and then take an old toothbrush and remove the mineral deposits & mold.
Vinegar in a large bag, then put on the shower head. Affix bag (I use velcro zip ties) and let soak.
