Hello-It might depend on the finish of your choice- stipple, drag faux bois, rag roll. The diy instructions- technique would depend on actual faux finish desired.

Start in the center of the wall and work out to edges
What look are you trying to achieve?
I start on the left side & work my way right.
This keeps it from drying or dripping before I can blend it.
I do not get close to the corners with a big brush or roller. I hand stipple in the finish with very small artist brushes.
