Hi! A chalk based paint or mineral paint will adhere great to the base of the lamp! Dixie Belle mineral paint is around $10 and you'll have quite a bit left over!

Painting it is prob your best option.

  • You can use spray paint that has a built in primer. It's quick and easy. :)

I apologize for not knowing the name, but I found some on Craigslist. I am pretty certain you will find some at eBay or Amazon. If you don't, you can write again. I probably still have a container full in my shed that I did not use. It is not a fast action to go and find it~

Depends on what u want. U can purchase leather or any type of material and using a spray adhesive to affix it to the lamp.

I checked on eBay and there are many listings for paint for leather. You could probably find a tutorial for how to cover over the vinyl or leather so the surface is smooth and how to paint or dye the leather. There are also listings at eBay for leather dyes. The difference between dye and paint is one is more on the surface than the other , but this is a lamp and not something you will be carrying around. Therefore, unless you drop something on the paint, it is unlikely it would crack or come off. i found that paint does not actually come off of surfaces unless you rub it long and hard or jab it with something sharp or bend it. This is not what you will do with that lamp. It won't be costly and can be tried.
