Hi Pat. You would paint kitchen cupboards the same as wood only you would need to make sure and prime them first. If you use a good primer under the paint, you should be able to choose any paint that you feel comfortable using to paint them after. Removing the doors will make them easier to paint as well.
Hi Pat, I just painted mine with a melamine paint, but I am sure as long as it is sanded and clean you can use a latex primer and paint. I will be redoing my cabinets in chalk paint in a year when I get some time off work, here is the method I plan to use
