How do I make a toilet flush without holding the handle down?

When you try to flush my moms toilet you have to stand there and hold the handle down. Please give me an easy way to fix this.

Open the tank and observe the chain before you flush it.
As you flush it, look at the chain and the float bowl.
The geometry & the timing can be easily changed.
1.) move the chain by a link or two
2.) bend the float’s rod to change the fill level
if none of these work, buy and install a new flap valve kit

Once it's flushed with the bucket, go inside the tank and shorten the little chain that connects the flapper to the handle arm.
