How can I decorate my closet-less bedroom?
I have a pretty big bedroom, it's 11ft x13ft. My queen size been has a custom built frame that stands about 2 ft off the ground. Under the bed is my storage area because I don't have a closet. I would like to make it my reading room, sewing room, craft area And my bedroom! Any ideas?

You could put in bookcases against a wall and fill it with pretty baskets that you could store clothing, craft and sewing supplies in, etc.
Maybe you could do something like my friend, Tee, of Beauteeful Living did for her home office area: http://beauteefulliving.com/glam-office-makeover-the-big-reveal
Maybe an armoire and a desk along with some of the shallower and long garment storage containers that have handles and wheels. You can use shoe boxes or small containers to separate and organize your crafting and /or sewing supplies and just roll them back under the bed when not in use. A desk can take the place of a night table, but could also be used for crafting or for setting up a sewing machine. Depending on the interior of the armoire, you might have an area to hang clothes and/or shelves for storing shoes, sweaters, or other closet related items. It could provide a good place to store your fabric/trims and possibly a portable sewing machine. Old glass jars storing buttons can be attractive sitting out- even colorful spools of thread can attractive in a jar or basket. A comfortable chair or chaise can be a good place for reading or even hand sewing. A small cushioned straight baked chair would be good to have for machine sewing or crafting at the desk. Desk drawers with separators or small boxes might serve to hold some sewing necessities, pens, pencils, tailor's chalk, etc..

I would use a multifunctional table that could be used for a desk, crafting table, and sewing table. I would add a big comfy chair that could be used at the table or for reading!
Check thrift stores, marketplace, and estate sales. You can probably find a good deal on a chifferobe, armoire, bookcases, or tv cabinet that can be used for those purposes. If they don't match, you can either re finish to match or paint. You can also paint all the hardware the same color. I like RustOleum's line of spray paint for that. Here's how I painted some drawer pulls to match using RustOleum hammered silver paint.
I would love for a good sized armoire then you could add a drop leaf table to one side for your crafting and sewing. Reading area, I would get one of the pillows with arms for the bed..... or you could go for a chair/recliner with foot stool and a light source. As to drawer pulls, my way to paint them is to poke the screws into a piece of styrofoam so they sit a little bit above the surface and then spray away in the garage or outside.
Get your self a desk with a hutch on top and you could keep all your stuff in there ready to grab even get baskets
Your best bet is to type a few key words into the search bar at the top left on Hometalk. You'll get loads of ideas to sift through to find what will work best for you.
Wow! Those were all great ideas, thanks so much everyone. I truly appreciate your interest and suggestions. I'm working on a color scheme right now. We just added some carpeting and I didn't know at the time but I found a stand alone closet with a bad for hanging clothes plus I already had a shelf with garment bar. I have a long (9 ft) dresser with 6 drawers, a bookshelf, and a cute lil shelf unit my son brought home from work. So furniture wise I am set. I really need to figure out colors. Thanks for all the great ideas folks I really appreciate them. I will let you know when I finish. Take care everyone!♥
