Bright colors modern ask them what they like get something they like and de orate the house around that item
Patrice: ASK THEM what they would like --- for THEIR bedroom!! ...as a high school teacher, they have very "distinctive" tastes! ...and they may surprise you with a simple design... as long as there is music and internet. Good luck! Have fun with this!
I agree. Get the teen involved. Ask what kind of theme they want. Favorite colors, style, etc. Look thru magazines with them and have the choose what they like.
Ask him or her, the color and what kinds of furniture the 16 years old like. Then take it from there. It's easy once you know what they like or dislike.
Hi Patrice. For a girl buy pink and white crape paper. Staple the two ends together. Hang that end on the wall and wind the two colors together. You can use the wound papers across doorways, across windows and even your doors. Pink balloons will complete the look. If you're decorating for a boy, use blue and white crape papers.
Crepe paper is a very impractical material to use for decorating with any
permanence. It will sag, rip, absorb moisture, and will be impossible to clean.
I would recommend installing a light dimmer switch in the teenager's room, or in 'their designated space'.
That way, they can easily alter themselves the amount and intensity of light according to their moods, time of day, or current activity.
You could get some inexpensive battery-operated fairy lights that she can put up in her room.
My daughter likes to create a DIY gallery wall in her room. She uses poster putty to put up postcards and pictures she likes with photos of friends, etc.
Getting your teenager involved with the decision and decorating process will yield the best results.
