Hello. This is a general Q&A posting area, the person who's project you're asking about would likely be unaware of your question about their project post. To get an answer about a specific post, ask the question directly below the project that will likely get you a reply from the Hometalk poster.
If you ever want to go back to see a particular project, just click on the little blue house at the top of this page, left-hand corner. If you can't find a particular project, you can use the search bar. Also, please consider checking out "Explore Projects" for even more additional ideas.
Hope this helps.
If you are building the shutters out of 2 pieces of wood, do this: Make a template of half of the tree. Lay the 2 boards together with the jointing edges lined up and clamp together. Trace your template on top board and cut out the tree shape with a jig saw. When done open the 2 boards and glue them together. You will have a symmetrical tree. I would add straps across the back side of the shutter.
I saw this idea on Etsy, the shutters are above the cut out, perhaps that would work? https://www.etsy.com/listing/753225796/solid-wood-exterior-palm-tree-window?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-home_and_living-home_decor-wall_decor-other&utm_custom1=88c3ce4d-d57f-4ffb-923f-aeff72c7213a&utm_content=go_1843970809_70433279940_306586451972_aud-318110574626_c__753225796&utm_custom2=1843970809&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-L2BRA_EiwAacX32YwjSUe89gl_ltq4EWiE_WrlNQ1jb3ZZHMJOOyogtJnUPGGrFwKicBoCpqwQAvD_BwE

Hi Judy, you could just use this video and use a stencil to make it a tree rather than a sail boat, to make the stencil find a picture on the net and blow it up when you print it out to the size you desire, hope this helps you out
