Trish M on Aug 23, 2012It Looks Like Devils Tongue To Me Too...The Reason it Dies out is Because it is a Tropical Perennial...Treat It as You Would a Venus fly Trap..Keep it Potted and When the Temp. outside Cools Below 70 Bring it in the House...It Will Go Dormant on it's own..When it Does...Keep it Cool and Sorta dry...Then in the Spring Start watering..They are VERY Stinky when They Bloom...If You Allow it to Complete a Cycle You Should get a Bloom Next spring~SummerHelpful Reply

Karen conn on Aug 24, 2012thanks trish, it is a devils tongue - amorphohallus. every summer the bottom of the stem splits, turns mushy-slimy, and falls off. it does not do anything after that so i dried the bulb and replanted it this spring. it grew but its stem did the same as last year and this time 1 of the 2 bulbs was mushy n rotted. so it has never bloomed. i did not know it had to come in when temp. goes below 70! thank u for your imput, it helpedHelpful Reply
