Mimi on Aug 06, 2015You could put a container herb garden mixed with small flowers. Plant your herbs in small individual pots or rectangle pots and intersperse some color with potted blooming flowers. It would look charming.Helpful Reply

Sophie Jonas-Hill on Aug 07, 2015I'm not sure how you could do this, but if you could cut through above the bottom section, could you reattach it with some mechanism which allowed it to revolve? If so, you could then use it as a garden party lazy Susan, by perhaps drilling holes in the upper discs and suspend cups and bowls for food and drinks etc, and fix serving bowls to the top. You might need to weight the bottom to keep it steady, and of course give it a new coat of paint!Helpful Reply

Irene on Aug 07, 2015I wouldn't cut it in half. I would leave it as one piece but cut sections out of it to make it look more interesting & paint it with exterior paint.Helpful Reply

Peppi on Aug 07, 20151st, sand any splintered edges, then dry brush a paint color on it. next, add evergreens and flowers to the top and intersperse throughout the layers. in between the flowers, randomly add old corbels, bird cages, driftwood, etc. anything to make it more interesting. group several chairs beside it with a couple of tables. any pots that are different sizes and colors will make it really stand out. to continue with the plants, add some containers near the seating area and make some high and some lower. if you have a hole in the center of the wood circle, put in a 4x6 and train some plants to grow upwards. i envy you to have such a centerpiece! so much you can do with it.Helpful Reply

Gabe on Aug 07, 2015you could disassemble it and repurpose the wood and pretty much make numerous projects with it. if you choose to cut, I would recommend using a sawzall, A.K.A. reciprocating saw, this should make short work of it, then you can use the round surfaces to make a clock, a table top, and outdoor table,Helpful Reply

Dee on Aug 08, 2015I agree with sanding for splinters and painting it. However, how about putting casters on it, move it inside and make the top into a game table? You could store other games, books, whatever on the lower levels.Helpful Reply

Carina Kocsis on Aug 08, 2015I would love to have something like this!! So many ideas, mostly mentioned above. Vintage clock is an awesome idea. I would also start thinking along the lines of a garden center where you could put your pots, soil, boxes with tools. You could put some type of backing on it to hang things from.Helpful Reply

Kincaid99 on Aug 09, 2015First if you are going to keep it as is, protect the wood, it is deteriorating and will soon start curling up big time, I would use it for a craft center, wire baskets to fit each layer and a center electrical outlet for the glue gun etc. Bar stools and an umbrella in center would make a nice seating area, you could add a larger top for more seating, paint a cool color and voila, you can entertain outside. . .Helpful Reply

Del1812802 on Aug 09, 2015How about a clock that when its in the sun it will give you the time. Sand it, put some Thompson to protect the wood, and on the shelves put planters with plants that love sun, like portulaca. Every year put that wood protector and can last forever.Helpful Reply
