A queen size bed frame is now construction with a center support, the length of the box spring, to help support weight on outer rails.

The stiffness of the box spring design has pretty much made slats obsolete.

You might try mattress stores, or cutting enough boards to fit the width of your frame, remembering that they will "flex" due to weight of box spring, mattress, and sleepers.

measure distance from inside of one rail to another and go to any lumber/hardware store. Most will cut down larger boards. Go for at least 1/4 inch thick.

Your local Home Depot or Lowe’s or other hardware store. Measure and they will cut to size for free.
