you can use Molly bolts on lath and plaster walls. I'll bet youtube has a tutorial on that.
The brick walls will have to be drilled and you will have to use masonry screws to hang it. But as an alternative have you tried using Command Strips. They make some that will hold large items. Each side of the strip has a Velcro strip on one side and sticky on the other. You stick it to the item and the wall and attach the Velcro together. I have put up a lot of pictures in my office with them just so I don't have to put holes in the walls.
