You will need a ladder; please be careful and have someone nearby to help you. You safety is way more important than a greasy ceiling fan. If it is really bad; you may need to remove the blades. If removing the blades is not a option; you can use the small foam brushes to get the cleaning in the smaller areas. Before using a wet cleaner; remove as much dust as possible with a microfiber cloth. Your fan blades are more than likely a laminate; the best wet cleaner to use if Murfy's Wood Oil Soap. While you are up there; if there is a light globe; be sure to remove it and clean it as well with a window or glass cleaner. Cleaning a dirty ceiling fan can be somewhat of a chore.

One of the best & easiest cleaners I've found is spray window cleaner! (Like Windex) The ammonia cuts through the dirt & grease & will leave them fresh & like new. You may need several rolls of paper towels, depending on how much you have to do.
good old dawn dish soap
Rinse with vinegar water if you use any thing wet to clean the blades, this will get rid of any soap residue or even a little of the greasiness. If there is soap residue on the blades it will cause dust, etc. to cling to it and make you clean it sooner.
