How can I get tar out of the fabric on a couch?

When we go to the beach and tar has washed ashore, we use baby oil to get it off our skin. I wonder if it would work on fabric?!?Helpful Reply -

When I was a teenager I got tar on a good pair of pants, my mother used gas and then it removed a good part of the tar, but there was still some left, you might try that.Helpful Reply -
