Put a paper bag( brown ones) and yse a warm clothes iron
Scrape up what you can with a plastic straight edge scraper. You could use a blow dryer to warm it and make it easier to get the residual off the lamp.
Ice it, and when it's really cold it's likely to just pop up when you use a scraper.
At first soften the dried wax with a blow dryer on medium heat. Keep the blow dryer 3 to 4 inches away from the table. Then blot up the softened wax with a soft, white cloth and mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar into 1 cup of water. Dip the cloth into the vinegar mixture, and wipe away any leftover wax. Clean your table with furniture polish to restore the shine.
I would use Mineral Spirts after you get the bulk of it off by scraping it off, and/or use a hot iron and some absorbent soft cloth to remove it.
