How to get out hard crusty hairspray/hair oil off recliner head area

I have a recliner where I have cleaned the area of the headrest. What can I do to get the area soft again? I've tried several upholstery products and trying to brush, it's crusty hard with a darker tint than rest of the chair. Great chair just have had a while. The material is kind of a rounded corduroy Any suggestions?

CVS carries a product to remove make up off fabric.....you rub it in... it might work.

I answered you in your other post....get a leather renewal kit at a hardware store or furniture store that sells leather....I use that on mine all the time.
You could try rubbing alcohol . I would test fabric first.
I would try shampoo as it gets those things out of your hair it should work also on material I would dilute it and try on a small area this also works on shirt collars
