My old dresser scarf left a whitish imprint in the finish of the dresser, and I want to get that out. It looks hazy on the finish.

Try rubbing the dresser down with coconut oil, olive oil or mayonnaise. Rub into the dresser with a soft clean cloth and proceed to clean with what ever you use for your furniture.

Scott's Liquid Gold spray is great for old furniture. Takes some elbow grease and a couple of applications, but should take off the film from the doily and restore the finish.

    Try rubbing it with toothpaste.

@Marjo is right...use a product designed specifically for restoring old furniture. Liquid Gold is wonderful for things like this and much easier to use than oils or salad dressings!
