Try using a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit to absorb the stain. Use an old toothbrush to brush the paste into the spot.
If you have a glass top stove and use Cerama Bryte, try this, as it is really good for removing burned on spots on dishes.
Try BarKeeper's Friend Soft Cleanser (not powder) as it also contains oxalic acid.
