ick. dawn soap lots of rinsing. you might want to take it out side on a grill to burn it off.
Hi Lori, Try scrubbing it with Barkeeper's Friend and a non-abrasive scrub pad. If that doesn't get the stains out, you might want to consider sending it out to be reglazed. I watch a TV show called "Rehab Addict". She has cast iron tubs and sinks reglazed often. They look brand new when she gets them back. Wishing you all the best.
If you can gets me sand put approx an inch of sand in you plan let it set overnight the majority if the oil should be soak up by the sand, then get some greased lightening spray your pan well let set about thirty minutes then use dawn and hot water scrub it , rinse it all sign and smell if oil should be gone you then need to season the cast iron should be good as new.
I'm not sure you can clean it. Cast iron is pretty porous, that's why you season it and not wash it too much. If it really was motor oil in it I might just use it for a decorative piece. Good luck.
