How to get rid of red algae in a pond?

I have a medium size pond in our field full of fish and it keeps getting a red algae floating on the top. How do I get rid of it...

For severe algae blooms, avoid oxygen depletion by applying to one half or one third of the area at a time. Break up any large mats of algae before applying the algaecide. Apply Mizzen® when algae first appears, and when the water temperatures are above 60° Fahrenheit.Drain it
Take your fish out before you attack the algae.. It will kill them no matter what the label says
Get yourself a bale of Rye Straw. Depending on the size of the pond, toss in as much of the straw as will still allow the fish to move around freely. After a week or two, you will see that the straw has collected the algae and can be removed.
