What works to remove paint from a cement sidewalk?

I accidentally spilled a gallon of paint on our cement sidewalk.

You can try using mineral spirits.

Use a wire scrub brush or a scraper to remove the loosened paint. You could also use a pressure washer for outdoor concrete surfaces such as driveways or patios. Repeat the steps if necessary. In some cases, a second or third application of paint stripper is needed to thoroughly remove paint from concrete.

I used paint remover, the kind to take paint off of furniture, to remove paint spots on my cement patio. Our house painter was not the neatest painter and apparently didn't believe in using painter's cloth so he left spots all along the perimeter of the house. The paint remover loosened the paint enough that I was able to scrape it off and then I carefully used a wire brush with a little more paint remover to get the residue. That was about five years ago and I haven't seen any problem with the cement. Be careful when using the paint remover with the wire brush as you don't want it splattering on your skin or on your face.

If it's in a puddle, it will likely lift up once it is completely dry. If not, I'd rent a pressure washer.

Try using gel paint stripper, leave it on for awhile and try scraping it with a paint scraper . Good luck!

I used Goop Off. Pour on spot, brush off paint with stiff brush like a steel bristle brush. The Goof Off evaporates quickly, so it may need repeated applications depending on amount of paint. Goof Off also emits fumes, so this should only be used on an outside spill.
