What glue do I use?

I am trying to glue rope to the outside of the metal rings from a barrel planter. But I have tried several glues and nothing works. Can someone help me please?

Have you tried E6000? That usually works when many don't. It takes a while to dry, but when I've applied it to both objects, waited a minute or two and then stuck the two pieces together, it's worked very well.

It sounds like a job for E6000 adhesive... have you tried that yet?
No I have never heard of that. Where can I get it, lowes?
