I'm surprised those glues didn't work. Did you try taping the frames together once you had applied the glue to hold everything together while they dry? For that sort of project I'd suggest clamping everything tightly together while it dries - giving it 24 hours for the glue to cure properly :)
For the Gorilla glue, did you dampen the ends before gluing too? What type of material is the frame made from? I know certain plastics don't work. You may need to check the labels.
I'm surprised those glues didn't work, too. How wide are the edges of your frames? Wide, flat-edged frames will almost certainly hold together better than thin ones.
Did you remove one type of glue before trying another one? If not, i dont think you'd get a very good bond with one type of glue on top of another. I'm with Craft Invaders, as well. Clamp everything together to give the glue time to cure.
