Can i paint a clear shower curtain?

I want to redo a kids' bathroom. I can't find a shower curtain or fabric in the pattern that I want. I was wondering- could I paint a vinyl curtain? If so with what kind of paint? I'm looking to do cartoon characters.

I don't think it would stick.. vinyl is a bit slick.. There is an iron vinyl If you do find some fabric to fuse to better fabric stores..If you do find some.. Have you looked for linen sets..what special cartoon characters ? check online fabrics,, so many more choices than regular retail..

@Wanda sinnema I really want Mario Kart which isn't available. Tess' idea for using a white one is the way I need to go. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll keep that in mind for another project.

Why not paint a plain white one and use a liner? Any cloth paint would work

@Tess Borgra Excellent idea! That's what I will do. Not sure why I had a clear one on my mind. White will be much better. Thank you!

You might be able to sew one on with a sewing machine ( use a small stitch) that is if you do find material like you want. Or if you have a scanner do your art, scan in and print on decal paper, the ink though is usually not waterproof just look around read decal package or you might try permanent magic marker, again only stays on awhile but needs to be for all 3 go to arts/crafts aisle in store look for cloth or gem glue (there are only 2-3 different brands) but get the waterproof one and I usually use paint brush to put on, make sure also that you get the glue that dries clear and I use the flexible one. Or paint it on and seal with clear contact paper, cut in stripe ,circle, or square ( the contact paper). Yes, I have used all the different steps on different projects.
