I have put pine cones in really low oven, and baked until some of wetness is out (if you have the long skinny ones wich are sticky, they come out shiny like a glaze on them. I would try to find cinnamon oil to sprinke on them after baking. Hope this works.

Everything I have seen uses a cinnamon oil.Whether you use essential oil or just a scented oil, this recipe takes 2 hours. The 2 hour baking time is to kill critters. http://www.food.com/recipe/cinnamon-scented-pine-cones-141352

Yes. Get a spray bottle & fill it full of hot water & cinnamon powder. Spray your pinecones until dripping with the spray & let them sit out in the sun to dry & then use them OR U can also use hot glue on the petals & dust with cinnamon like you would glitter OR mix glitter & cinnamon together & use them both together on the petals. The glitter would create a glimmer look & still give you the scent of cinnamon too. :)

Bake at 200 for two hours to kill any bugs living inside. I boil them in cinnamon water then repeat the baking process when finished spray with craft glue and sprinkle with fresh cinnamon or cinnamon fragrance
