How do I decorate a half bathroom?
In the UK, our bathrooms aren't very big and I have a half bathroom that I want to decorate on a tight budget. Any ideas please?

For a small half bath go for punch. Choose a beautiful color or wallpaper or do a stencil. Use extra special hand towels and beautiful containers for soaps, etc. Decorate the walls with beautiful but inexpensive art, baskets, or metal pieces. This is not the place for humdrum colors and accessories! Try to find somewhere for a green plant even if artificial (since they look so real today)--a tall vase in a corner or a metal basket that is flat on one side hung on the wall with greenery in them--anything to give a little sense of something organic. Also, a beautifully framed mirror instead of a standard bathroom mirror and a pretty chandelier or light fixture.
My elderly mom wanted a change in her half bath (I enclosed pics). She said she wanted “drama” and the color brown. It took me a minute to figure out how to do this without making her bath look like a cave since there is no window. Basically I added chair rail, painted everything below it white and then chocolate brown on the top. This kept the room bright. It think it made a huge difference and she loved it. I painted over her wallpaper but first use joint compound to fill in the lines, sanded, primed, and then painted. So my advise for you is to go for some drama!
Shelving with baskets above the toilet and above the door frame is a great way to maximize space!
For my small bathrooms I go for “scale”:
small vanity, small ceramic tiles, small lights, etc. Even my accessories are small.
Also I spend the money on a high CFM and low SONES exhaust fan.
Thank you so much for your ideas! Pinkystarfish, I never imagined brown! It looks amazing! I'll keep you updated, thank you x
