Repurposing etched vases

Helene Katz
by Helene Katz
I have two etched vases, I believe these vases are crystal. The vases were given to me as a reward from a former company- I was top in the region in sales for 2 quarters. How can I best use these vases? I no longer work for the company. Suggestions?
Thanks!
Helene

I am assuming you do not want the writing to show through. If this is correct you can purchase spray paint for glass. Paint the vases and use a vase filler and put real or fake flowers in them.

Helene- Congrats on your past accomplishments! Do the vases have inscriptions from your previous employer? If so, and if the inscription is just on one side of the vase, you can always display or fill them with flowers, sea shells, marbles, gems etc. and turn the inscribed side away. If the vases are valuable to you sentimentally, this would be a good way to use them and still have the fond memory of your past success.

If the vases are the same size, you might consider using them as a matching pair of hurricane candles.

Buy some etching cream at Michaels, Hobby lobby or Joann fabric. Follow the directions and coat the whole vase. Or you can glue on some vinyl stickers -stars,hearts,etc before applying the etching cream. That would give you clear hearts, stars on an etched background
