Repurposing a ladder into a towel rack

I want to hang a ladder vertically on a wall to use as a towel rack, but I don't know what kind of brackets to use so that it will stand out from the wall to make grabbing a towel easy and to have space between the wall and the ladder.

The first thing that comes to mind is bicycle brackets. They are defin strong enough to hold the weight, they screw into the wall and can be painted to hide if you'd like. 2nd thought is...go to the hardware store and have a worker help you choose the correct screws and anchors.

Maybe drapery rod brackets would work. and they'd be more decorative.

You know, that may just work! They would keep it far enough away from the wall and I could also stabilize at the bottom using brackets placed upside down, which in turn, should stabilize the entire ladder! It wouldn't be able to 'jump' out of the brackets at the top! Awesomeness!!!! Thank you!
