I would like to know how to make wood look rustic bowls

I love the antique wooden trencher and dough bowls. They are too expensive. I have seen reproductions of the wood look bowls at crafts shops. These are made of resin. Can anyone tell me how to make them? I have looked for website but have come up with nothing. I saw a couple on Hometalk but these are not what I want.
Please will someone tell me how to create these bowls?

Using an actual bowl as a form you could make your own bowl of papier-mâché . You would build the papier-mache on the outside of the upside down bowl . Once it's dried you can stain it or paint it. More for decorative use snd not to use for batter or dough

I would check thrift stores...I've seen them there often. You could make one out of sculpy clay and paint with dark brown acrylic paint. From time to time, Michael's has half off sales on their site for sculpy.

  God bless you. I have tried to find a website that would teach me to make reproductions of
  dough bowls and trenchers to give to my daughter. I know these items are made with resin.
  I only know that much because I read the bottom of one. For some reason instructions seem to be a secret. I would so appreciate to hear from you.
