Years ago, my mom and I made beautiful angels out of styrofoam tree and egg shapes, paper towels, glue (real liquidity), and gold spray paint. Does anyone know how to make them, and would you please share the instructions?

I remember making angles like that in church. I believe we took the fabric and dipped it or painted it with Modge Podge. We then draped it over the styrofoam tree. To attach the egg (head) we probably used something like a quilting pin, or a long needle, inserted it into both the egg and tree but also added some glue to stabilize it. To make the look of hands, we used pipe cleaners stuck into each side and rapped the tips with a cotton ball and scraps of fabric over the cotton balls. The original fabric mentioned was draped over all of this and folded in pleats so that it looked like a gown. That got Modge Podged too. I believe we cut wings out of cardstock and attached to the back once the Modge Podge was dry. Once the wings were attached and everything was dry we spray painted the whole thing gold.

I have a playlist of papier mache, with Santa figures and angels in it... they don't use styrofoam, since I try my best to recycle... but you may find something you like: https://www.youtube.com/user/Hectanooga1/search?query=papier+mache

We did this year's ago I think using watered down white glue, but made 3 wise men holding their gifts. Use different types of materials in layers. Then sprayed with a darker gold paint not shiny. Looked nice as side table display.
