You can paint and add a marble top to it.
If it is still covering a radiator you don't want to block the air flow. There is always the option of paint. You can remove the grill and replace it with wooden lathe or dowels. If you have the room you can put a new top on it and extend it out and build a simple bookcase/media unit on the end.
