When our rental house was updated, they used pallet boards to cover the restroom. (It used to have a very weird looking wallpaper and they couldn't remove it.) I liked it better before they painted it, but I still like it as white. Walls and ceiling has pallet boards.

I couldn't find the picture of just the ceiling. But here is our wall and at the top is a partial peek of the ceiling. Everyone loves it! Hope this helps!

@Aimee thank you. It's still a work in progress. My husband has decided he liked it so much that he is doing the whole living room in it. Had to put my foot down and say we need SOME dry wall! LOL...But you know men, they start something and never finish. :)

  • we used cedar fence boards to do the ceiling in our deck not very expensive and do it in a pattern and it worked out great

@Aimee you should reach out to your local factories. However, now days they have people that drive around and pick them up, fix them, and then sell them back to the companies. You could check some local stores/mom and pop shops/ who would have to pay someone to come out and actually pick them up. Or you could try a recycling place, they may have some to where people actually will pay them to come out and pick them up. Maybe someone at those locations could point you in the right direction. Or you could always try Lowe's they actually sell them!

Many businesses will give away pallets just to get rid of them. So many of them will burn or trash them if they last too long. When they order heavy stuff, it gets delivered in pallets and it costs too much money to return them. In our house, they used the pallets from the fireplace stones at the landlords house. It works great. I like how it looks, it is cheap, and recyclable.
