Do you want to walk in on it or wake up to it? Consider where your windows are as some patterns will work better or worse in direct light. Consider the base color of the paper should be the main color of your walls. (hopefully light)

Focal point papering: just an idea I saw that was quite appealing.......rather than wall papering an entire wall...use a decorative trim to create three long rectangles with space between each. Wall paper the interior sections of these rectangles. Select a wall paper that compliments your wall colour.

personally, I don't like the look of just one wall papered. I would do the 2 walls that are most prominent when you enter the bedroom.
