Where can you get henna for hand painting and how do you mix it?

My daughter and her friend would like me to do henna art on their hands and arms for the summer, but I don't know where to get the henna or how to mix it. Can someone give me a heads-up where to get it and a tutorial on how to use it?

Years ago, I bought a kit at Walmart, You can probably check their website or definitely on Amazon, where you can get everything. -
