What style,color,and size of rug should I use in my family room ?

Question

When you walk in to my home, the first room you see is my family room. I need a rug to pull it all together. The size of the room is 18 x 20 wall-to-wall!

I would select a color that would blend not match with your furniture and flooring. The flooring looks very pretty so I would opt for just an area rug in front of the couch.Because your room has a lot of naturals a lightly pattern carpet with hues of color would look very nice.

What a beautiful room! Is would suggest and rectangular area rug in colors that coordinate with your furniture. That pop of green you're using already is so nice with the grey. Check out Home Depot or Kohls for area rugs. A floral rug would look wonderful

I suggest a ROUND rug to break up all the angles of the room. It needs to have some of the green you have in there now, but you need to bring in another color. Pick up the beautiful teal in the pillow on your sofa. Look for a round rug that has those predominant  colors and possibly a few more! Good luck!

You can use painters tape and measure like an 8'x10' rectangle rug or round to give you an idea of what a rug would look like in this size. I agree with a pear green color maybe with brown in it.

Love your home. I think an oval rug in a bright aqua would add a wonderful pop of color . Too much green would be overwhelming. Or a pop of yellow will do.

I suggest a berber rug at the entry to catch the dirt from shoes/boots as they enter. A variegated grey/black/beige/brown will 'hide' the dirt, so you won't have to vacuum it every day. It will also pick up the color scheme of your furniture, and would be basic, functional and modest; have great wear and tear, so you can change up the color scheme of the room without worry about colors clashing.

I noticed a chair and pillows with accent color that appears like lime green or yellow. Look for indoor-outdoor floral rug with this color and  possibly acqua. I think I have seen one on line with this color combo. Good luck.
