The best thing to do is to first fill the cracks using an asphalt or concrete filler product, depending on the type of driveway you have. If it's an asphalt driveway, you can then add a top coat and it will look like new. With a concrete driveway, the process is similar but it's harder to match the exact color of your concrete. The best tip that I've seen is to save some of the concrete dust that you get when you clean out the cracks and use that to top the filler. You can also seal a concrete driveway with the proper sealer. The problem with painting it is that the tires can wear concrete paint away. The best answer I can find for that is to use an epoxy paint that is tested for tires. Check your local stores to see what they have available before making a decision to paint.
