Does anyone have experience dying leather?

My leather couch has worn places where the color (dye) has rubbed off. I've read about dying leather, but have no idea how to do it.

Some of the dyes come in a bottle with a dauber on it...shake bottle first, the Apply and let dry...kinda like shoe polish. My cousin rehabs saddels. Do you know that your couch is real leather or pleather? Get a tiny string from the fabric. Take a match to it real leather turns to ash. Fake leather clumps. If you got ash your got ash..your good to go.

Thanks so much. I bought it as real leather, but will do the test to be positive.

My grandson just repaired leather sofa and love seat with a product called Rub N Restore. Google where to buy it. It did a great job.
