Fabric medium paint & water made cushions hard- what can I do?

How do I make them soft again?

You can try sanding them but I'm not sure there is a way to soften them after using fabric medium. In the future you may want to use chalk paint instead.

Try soaking in tepid water and fabric softner.

I agree with Elizabeth. Light sanding should soften them. Should eel like suede.
