Janet Pizaro on Oct 05, 2015I would try a water based poly sealer. This will be a little glossy so it is suggested to seal the whole piece of furniture.Helpful Reply

Sharyn Diaz on Oct 05, 2015Minwax water based polycrylic as Janet mentioned is what I use, it doesn't yellow but even the satin finish is glossy so I would agree that the whole piece get a few light coatsHelpful Reply

Elaine Simmons on Oct 06, 2015It is my understanding you can use a water based poly that is dull. Somebody sells it but can't remember who. You can wax it too but when I did that to a graphic it kind of smeared the graphic. How did you do yours? I traced my stencil using graphite paper and used a magic marker to apply it. Yours looks great! I would appreciate your how to.Helpful Reply

Linda Dorn on Oct 06, 2015Hi, I bought the water base poly today in a spray at Home Depo. I'm going to spray the stencil in the morning. I will let you know how it turns out. I used a stencil I ordered from Home Depo and I also used Chalk paint to put the stencil on, as chalk paint sticks to everything.Helpful Reply

Linda Dorn on Oct 08, 2015I used Minwax water based spray and it worked wonderful. I only had to do the front where the stencil is and you could not tell the difference on the rest of the desk. I thank everyone for your help. LindaHelpful Reply
