I want to refinish my old dining table to use on the covered patio...
Looking for information on how to refinish a dining table? It is oak finished. What should I finish it with to stand up to the heat and cold?

You will have to sand it down,clean,prime with an outdoor primer,allow to dry,and use an outdoor paint for wood,then seal with a outdoor sealer for wood. -

If you want to leave it oak you can use a marine grade varnish. -

A marine grade paint and varnish will hold up to the elements.
