Any suggestions on what I need to do to paint a wooden rocking chair that I'd like to use on my deck?

I would sand the rocker down with 120 grit paper and apply an oil based paint to it ..

Thanks - I didn't realize the paint should be oil base. Makes sense. Do you know if most spray paints for patio furniture is oil based?
