What is the best paint to use to re-do a laminate surface?

It is an ancient Ikea entertainment center. The design is perfect for my use, but the surface has seen better days. I want to make it new again. I plan on removing the back and replacing with brass sheet metal that has a design stamped into it, but I don't know what to do with the rest of it to make it snazzy.

I would sand it with 150 grit sand paper. Then prime with a good primer-ask at the paint store. There are probably some better for plastic. Then you can use any enamel paint. Enamel is better than wall paint for furniture. Just don't paint in humid weather. Use thin coats and let it dry according to the directions on the label. Also, if you don't mind using spray paint, Rustoleum makes a paint for plastics.Helpful Reply -
