Why not just use appropriate paint like a good exterior enamel or a marine semi-gloss.
Yes, but be prepared to renew the wax often. Wax cannot stand up to direct sunlight.
I would not recommend it. I would recommend PPG/Porter Paints, Advantage 900 in a semi gloss sheen. No sealer needed.
Chalk paint is not good for outdoors, I think even the cans state that.
You also don't say if your door is wood or metal. But either can be painted with a good exterior paint. Son-in-law painted his metal front door to look like an expensive wooden door. It looks awesome.
Thanks everyone for the answers. The door is wood and I'll get my outdoor paint and have at it this weekend! Now to pick a color. It is a hideous brown and the house is white.. I want a pop of color possibly blue??? Ideas? and I really just don't want red.
