I live in Colorado and CO Springs is beautiful! Welcome! There is a lot of red dirt and red rock formations - so perhaps along the lines of the reds, & oranges? If those colors don't fit you then you could try the mountains of green pines, blue/gray rocks, and browns. There are always wild flowers to think about of purples, reds, and yellows too. Here are some links to pictures:

Let your heart do the talking. My reasoning behind that is you should love where you live. Every state, even Alaska and Hawaii have a multitude of colors. The whole house needn't be just 3 colors. I say three because 3 colors-main, secondary, accent, I believe, should be in one room. For example; I have a room I call my Serenity Room and it is painted in serene colors...it is a place of peace and meditation. My books are there as is my alter. My kitchen next to the Serenity Room is retro with spots of red, the Campbell Soup kids, green milk glass, a metal enameled topped kitchen table. My living room has paper blinds that were cheap but don't look cheap, over them are 2 sheer golden yellow sheer curtains tied in the center, the walls are all wood, the furniture plain, simple, and comfortable but the throw pillows and the floor rugs are where the colors spark from. My bathroom is ocean and I don't mean a tacky looking ocean. In colors of sand, pale blue and watered down Veridian on one wall and on the others all water washed Veridian the need for extra color isn't needed-my sink and tub are galvanized tin found at Farm and Country. The tub is a watering trough and the sink is an oval utility piece. Pieces of driftwood here and there, some real sponges and shells. Along one wall is a gray old piece of wood that have bluish green mason jars on it that hold q-tips, cotton balls, razors, etc. My bedroom is completely old style Asian. As I said. It is what your heart desires. Look at those colors- which ones strike you the most? What season are you looking at these colors in? HOW do you want to use those colors. Oranges, reds, and yellows are nice accent colors but could you take them being large and in your face? And remember, 3 colors per room would get you a different look in each room even if your kitchen and living room are one open space because you can integrate the colors from one room into the next and let them "fade". Three colors- I'm sure Colorado has more than enough colors for your needs. I look at my home as a place of art. I can go to any room and be comfortable and yet be in another "realm" too. I understand that not all are like me but I have found that it awakens the senses AND should I be in a certain mood I can always hang in a particular room....even my bathroom as it has a fish tank and a comfy chair with books/magazines. Let your imagination fly. Good luck!!!

I lived in Aurora for several years. Beautiful state. I'd suggest Navajo White with a Sage Green accent wall. That way you can add pops of color wherever you'd like while not being confined to a set of permanent colors that may conflict with your furniture and other decor. Congratulations on your new home and new adventure. Best of luck.
