Has anyone used chalk paint on lacquer furniture?
I have two bookcases that are black lacquer and wanted to see about painting them with chalk paint but I am afraid.
When I painted paneled walls, I used interior paint with primer. It took 2 coats. I'd definitely use a primer first. Maybe ask at your local paint or hardware store.
Chalk paint could be applied in a "sample" area so you could see if you like the look before planning to do the entire room. I've had great success with a flat finish paint on panels that had grooves but I haven't done chalk pain on panel walls. Seems it would be a lot of extra work with the wax and/or some type of sealer.
