Naval jelly works but its caustic, so wear goggles and rubber gloves, and I use a small wire brush, steel wool and a scraper if needed.
Try dabbing a paper towel of a microfibre cloth in CLR and rub the areas that are visible to you and ugly to look at. Use WD40 if the hinges are squeaky, paint can sometimes be chipped off if you use a chizzle or small dry wall knife, depends how many coats ans how thick the paint is.
Try using an SOS pad.
Scraping, sanding, and wire brushing for the paint.. WD40 and wire brush for the rust.
Try using a heat gun and a scraper to get the paint off. As for the rust try some steel wool.
