How do you paint over the worlds worst shower tiles ( circa 1972?)

Picture beige tub and mustard sunflower tiles.... Think platform shoes and the BeeGee's. Can I paint over the tiles, just as a stop gap until we can re-do our bathroom?

You can. But the 70s are really in at moment, may want to embrace it and add some fun wallpaper that has those colors to tie it all together. Remember paint will eventuly peel. Just a thought.
